These Terms and Conditions apply to your use and subscription to Portner Press publications and its websites. By using our services you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and they shall constitute an agreement between you and Portner Press Pty Ltd ('PP, 'us', 'our', 'we').
All information contained on our websites (our websites include any website that is operated by us and offers one or more publications that we publish) and in emails is general advice; your personal or company's circumstances have not been taken into account. If you're in doubt about the suitability of the information, it is a good idea to seek professional advice.
The information contained in our handbooks has been produced in good faith and is based on information collected from experts and wide ranging sources believed to be correct and accurate at the time of publication. PP, its directors, officers and employees disclaim to the maximum extent permitted by law any liability for loss or damage however caused as a result of any subscriber relying on information in a PP publication or communication. Please seek professional advice.
Access to Information
Users will only have access to the services they are subscribed to. For paid services, only a paying member has access to the subscriber-only section of the websites and emails. Subscribers must not reveal any username(s) or password(s) or forward paid services emails to any third party. The free e-letters can be viewed on their dedicated websites or subscribed to by email.
Use of Copyright Material
All material published on our websites is owned or provided under licence by PP. Content in the free e-letters may be republished only if you acknowledge the e-letter as the source and provide a link to its dedicated website. Content in our paid subscriptions is not to be reproduced, forwarded, or disclosed without our prior written permission.
Privacy
When you provide personal information to PP you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy. Please read our Privacy Policy.
Cancellation Policy, Pricing and Trial Periods
When you request a PP handbook publication, you have 14 days free trial from the date of receipt of the handbook. No charge will be incurred if you choose to return the handbook to us within this timeframe. The full amount for the handbook becomes due after 14 days.
On purchase of any handbook publication, you enter into a continuing agreement for that product's update service. Prices for updates will be communicated to you at the same time as the cost of the handbook. The update service may be cancelled at any time if you give us written notice that you wish to cancel. You will be liable for charges of updates prior to any cancellation.
Refunds for products received and paid for will be dealt with on a case by case basis. You will be required to return the product if a refund is deemed due.
We can review and alter our prices for any product at any time. If the price for your next subscription period or update is to increase we will let you know before it changes.
All prices are quoted in Australian dollars and include postage. Standard delivery times are within ten business days.
Pre-Paid Update Option
You have the option to pre-purchase 12 updates for the price of 9. Should you have any outstanding charges for earlier updates, this prepayment will be credited to the outstanding amount, and cover remaining updates in the series of 12.
Security Policy
When purchasing from Portner Press your financial details are passed through a secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology. 128-bit SSL encryption is approximated to take at least one trillion years to break, and is the industry standard. Unlawful Activity
PP has the right to investigate any breach or complaint about a violation of these terms and conditions. PP will take any necessary action to protect itself and may report any unlawful activity to the relevant legal authorities.
Breaching the Terms and Conditions
Any subscriber or website user found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions may have their subscription or website access suspended, amended or cancelled. We reserve our right to take whatever action is available to us under the law.
Changes to these Terms and Conditions
We may change all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time. If we do, the new Terms and Conditions will be posted on our websites. Your subsequent or continued use of this website and/or receipt of our emails will constitute your acceptance of any changes. If you object to any changes to the Terms and Conditions, your only remedy is to discontinue your use of the website or cancel your subscription with us. As you are bound by these Terms and Conditions, we recommend that you periodically refer to them.
